On Wall Street, the market was down, because of the reported increase of unemployment from 8.51% to 8.92%. The Dow Jones average dropped to 9,921, a total drop of 325 points on a volume of 256,598,987. The biggest loser was Celetex whose stock dropped by 32% to $10.84. The price of oil rose by 6.83%, which has decreased its profit margins and customers are not willing to have the increased costs passed along to them.
In the City, the market was in flux as some major companies reported strong gains; however, traders in London remain cautious due to the situation with the Euro. Blue Angel PLC reported an increase in sales revenue for this quarter of over €10,100,000, which was an increase of 5.2% above forecast sales. Laura Almeida, Inc. also had a great day with a 10.2% rise in its share price, ending the day at £14.52. The Euro seemed to have slowed its decline as it only dropped by 0.2% today, and ending trading at €1 to $1.19.

Había varios ejemplos de decimales, ya que suelen ser necesarios cuando se habla de temas económicos. Hay muchos decimales en el texto, por ejemplo «8.51». ¿Lo ha leído como «eight point fifty-one» u «eight point five one«?

«Percent» (%) siempre va precedido de un número, mientras que «Percentage» suele ir precedido de palabras como pequeño/alto.

“0” can be pronounced “zero, nought, nil and love”. In British English “oh” is often used for telephone numbers. Zero and nought are more common in mathematics. Interest rates fell by zero point four percent (0.4%). In sports scores, we use nil. Manchester United beat Chelsea by three goals to nil. (3-0) However, in tennis, 0 is love. The score is love-fifteen. (0-15). Federer leads by two sets to love.

Pronunciation Note
